My brother’s beloved varmit rifle (when hunting in Washington) is a 44-40 Win. My dad got his rifle at a gun show in Hoyleton many many years ago. i’ve had the Ruger about ten years and it’s in very good condition. My all-time prized rifle is the Ruger 77/50RS I got at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Hoyleton.
My cherished caliber is probably the 44-40 Win from Target in Hoyleton. My Mom’s desired caliber for groundhogs out to 300-400 yards is anything in a 44-40 Win.
